It will be interesting to see what PR professionals decide to do with this community. Every community probably has the same amount of "crime" or more but since this neighborhood has more high profile neighbors, they receive higher criticisms. I do not think that the neighborhood has much to worry about, but the residents may disagree. Increased security and rules may be neccessary to help appease the residents.

I agree with you on this post. I think that "Going green" is a great way to connect with the public. The idea of recycing phones is really great! It shows that they care about the environment and, therefore, their public. Great job on this post Sarah!

I agree that the VERB campaign's message was just not strong enough to start a change. The idea is good though so I believe that the poor execution was the biggest factor in why it didn't succeed. That said, social media is becoming bigger and bigger but in this case it is part of the problem so it can't be used for the solution. I think this creates a problem in creating an intriguing PR campaign.

Hey SC! I just looked at the GM slide show you posted in your blog, and I also think GM is coming a long way in internal communication. In order for their company to bounce back, it is imperative that GM perfect and retain communication strategies between employees. It looks like they are off to a great (second) start and their re-vamped PR/internal communication strategies will help them reach their goal.

I definitely like what Sarah Camille had to say about the Dove Campaign. The advertisement industry today spends more money on campaigns and ads of women who are America's ideal look of beauty. With that first Dove Commercial, many Americans began to realize how true it actually is. After a little more PR, Americans were flocking to Dove because it was in fact so endearing to the "average" people in America--especially women. I think this is a great example of good PR

I love the Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty. I really do believe it has helped out the younger girls in the self-esteem area as well as the older. There are such unrealistic expectations placed on women these days, and Dove decided to take a stand against it. Their interactive website for young girls and their funds that go to programs that promote self-esteem in young girls is a great PR campaign. They really have tried to pinpoint all the publics.

Sarah Camille- I agree that Dove's PR campaign is a great one. I think that their name has been brought up in the news recently because of the new Ralph Lauren ads that have surfaced. In their ads, the models' bodies are skinnier than their heads!! They have obviously been photoshopped and are receiving criticism. I think that it's great that Dove is promoting ideas of positive body image, no matter what. Great post!

Hi Sarah. I am in your Comm class. I agree with you - it is nearly impossible for any size company to monitor all of the online comments and conversations about them. It would require many man-hours that could be better spent elsewhere. I have to agree with the fact that as the social media networks increase, we will also see an increase in companies such as BuzzDing! I had not heard of BuzzDing! before so I enjoyed learning about it through your blog. I could of used BuzzDing! with our online monitoring assignment. I'm sure I could have found alot more online chatter about the Clemson game. Good luck with the rest of this class.
